Privacy at RMH Baltimore

Last revised 2026-10-28

This is a reading site. It has no accounts, no comment boxes, no newsletter sign-up, no advertising and no analytics. What follows explains the small amount of information that still moves when you visit, and what we do with it.

Who is responsible

RMH Baltimore Editorial Guide LLC, a Maryland publisher based in Charles Village, Baltimore, MD 21218, runs rmhbaltimore.com. Questions about this notice go to editorial@rmhbaltimore.com, and Eleanor Vance-Sterling answers them.

What our server sees

Any web server has to know where to send a page. When you load one of ours, our hosting and content-delivery provider receives your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and the browser identification string your device sends. Those records exist to keep the site running and to spot abuse such as automated scraping. We do not combine them with anything else, and we do not try to work out who you are from them. The provider keeps them for a short rolling period and then discards them.

Fonts

Our typefaces (Merriweather, Public Sans and Fira Mono) load from Google Fonts. Your browser therefore contacts Google’s font servers, which see your IP address and the font request. Google’s own privacy terms govern that exchange. If you would rather avoid it, most browsers can block third-party font requests, and the site still reads well in system fonts.

The planner keeps your numbers at home

The stay budget estimator and the study allocator on our homepage run entirely inside your browser. The length of your stay, your party size, your practice scores and your weekly hours are never sent to us or anyone else. Nothing is saved in cookies or local storage, so closing the tab clears them.

No cookies, no tracking

We set no cookies. We run no advertising, no tracking pixels, no session recording and no third-party analytics. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not use it for targeted advertising or profiling, because we do not collect it in the first place.

If you write to us

An email to our editorial address naturally includes your address and whatever you chose to tell us. We use it to reply, to fix a mistake you pointed out, or to improve a guide. We keep editorial correspondence for up to two years so we can follow a correction through, then delete it. We never add correspondents to a mailing list. Please do not send us medical records, test-registration details or financial information; we have no use for them.

Maryland law and your choices

The Maryland Online Data Privacy Act took effect on October 1, 2025. Its main duties apply to businesses that handle personal data about many thousands of Maryland residents, and a site that collects as little as ours almost certainly falls outside them. We follow its intent anyway: we collect only what is needed to serve a page or answer an email, we do not sell data, and we do not process sensitive data. If you want to know whether we hold any email from you, or want it deleted, write to us and we will answer within 45 days, usually much sooner.

If we ever learned that personal information we hold had been accessed without permission, we would notify affected Marylanders as the Maryland Personal Information Protection Act requires, and the Office of the Attorney General where the law calls for it.

Younger readers

Our guides are written for adults and older students. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and because nothing on the site asks for personal information, a younger reader can browse it without sharing any. A parent who believes a child has emailed us can ask us to delete that message.

When this notice changes

If what we collect ever changes, for example if we add a contact form, we will rewrite this page before the change goes live and update the revision date above.
